Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

Why buying camera equipment is like adopting a dog

About two weeks ago, I darn near gave my local FedEx man a hug. Why? BECAUSE HE HAD JUST DROPPED OFF MY 50 1.2 LENS! People I have coveted this lens for so long actually having it in my possession is probably not unlike how the Grinch felt finally holding all those presents from Whoville...

The triumphant return of my hot, bearded husband

It happens every year around this time. My husband, Nick, starts sporting a few days growth. Then I’m all, “Is the beard coming back? Is the beard coming back?!!” and he teases me … “Maybe … let me think about it.”
A few more days pass and I’m suddenly a very happy girl. You see, I’m...

Merry Christmas everyone!

Every year it seems like the list of people we send our Christmas card out to gets bigger while the number of cards I order tends to stay the same. And, inevitably, that means a LOT of people that I’d love to share our card with get left out. Well blog readers, that includes ALL...

My 3 Favorite Presents

When you’re one half of a couple that’s been together for awhile (and will be together for the long haul), you know there are years you don’t make gift-giving magic happen with one another. With Nick and I, at least we still get one another gifts. I know a lot of my friends who, once...

Hilary and Tim — Fort Wayne Engagement Session

Coming back to work on Hilary and Tim’s engagement session after all the traveling I’ve been doing as of late was like slipping on a pair of my favorite jeans. It was familiar. Comfortable. FUN. I’ve missed editing sessions and was again reminded of what a great couple I had to end 2009 with!
Hilary and...

Fast Track Roadshow Recap

I’ve been back home for two days now and still finding it hard to put in to words how I feel about my trip to Colorado for Dane Sanders’ Fast Track Workshop. Was it transformative? Yep. Inspiring? No doubt. Life-changing? It sounds like a stretch, but seriously, not much of one.
Dane is a photographer...

I really love …

Quirky, fun, creative calendars.
With this being the last month of ‘09, I dipped into the pocket book to purchase a few new lovely calendars to start the new year (the NEW DECADE …isn’t that insane?) off right. See, I’m a bit of a calendar junkie. I have to stop myself at just buying three for...

A call for better stories

It’s funny how a certain book can come along at a certain time and you just think, “Wow … I was meant to read these words right now in my life.” That’s the way I felt as I raced through Donald Miller’s new book, A Million Miles In A Thousand Years.
Miller is one of my...

My Etsy Xmas Wish Gift List

Somewhere out there is a person who gets paid to be people’s personal Etsy shopper. If that job doesn’t exist yet, well, it should. And I’d like to be the first person to send in her resume when it’s created.
A few weeks back, my pal Betsy asked me for some gift suggestions on...
