Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

The Shafer Family — Santa Monica-Ventura Family Portraits

It takes a special kind of person to be cool with a stranger crashing at her pad for four nights. Erin and her hubby, Jeff, are indeed special kind of people. I stayed with them in their apartment during my visit to L.A. this fall and loved getting to know the pair of them. They...

Boston after 4 p.m.

A few weeks back I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a marketing conference in Boston for my job at Ball State. The fact the conference just so happened to be in a city I’d never explored? Even better!
My only beef with Boston? With winter on the horizon, it gets dark there early. WAY EARLY....

I really love …

Fuzzy socks.
It’s that time of year again, isn’t it? Where those of us with bare tile/wood/linoleum floors wake up each morning hopping, cursing the cold surface beneath us, until we reach the sock drawer. And yup, there they are. Just waiting for us like a good book or an old friend. Our favorite pair of...

The Johnstons — Fort Wayne Family Portraits

I have been SO EXCITED to post this session because my heart is filled with so much love for this family! As I mentioned on my sneak peek of these guys a few weeks back, Zeb and I have known one another since grade school and he is someone who is just 100-percent, to-the-core good....

Music is my sanctuary

The other day I was trolling etsy (ha! what else is new?!), and I stumbled across this lovely little print. And I thought, wow, four words that are pretty spot-on perfect. For me, anyway.
There are few things outside of one of my pastor’s sermons that can lift my spirits the way music does. In so...

The Schaller Family

Warning alert, warning alert: CUTENESS OVERLOAD ENSUES …. NOWWWWWWWWW
I’m reintroducing you to the Schaller Family. What a fun session this was! I’m always amazed how I can end a family session sometimes feeling just as tired as I do a wedding and I gotta say, this family kept me on the move!...

Hilary and Tim: Sneak Peek

What a way to end my 2009 season! When I booked Hilary and Tim earlier this year, I knew after friending Hilary on Facebook that I was going to be blessed with ridiculously good-looking clients to wrap up the year. AND HOW! Wow… these two are (as you can see) gorgeous! They’re great on the...

All in the family …

You don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them. — Desmond Tutu
I love that quote. So, so much. And I’ve said it before here but it bears saying again that I feel REALLY blessed to have the family I have been given. Last month we got...

Kinsi and Jeff: The Engagement

I love people who are real. What do I mean by real? I mean the kind of people who show up for something ready to go with the flow. No fuss, no drama. The kind of people you just know would like, tip their waitress extra after seeing her embarrassingly drop a huge platter of...

Hug O’War

I will not play at tug o’war.
I’d rather play at hug o’war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins.
– Shel Silverstein

One of the best things about photographing children is being reminded of your own childhood. Sometimes, as in this case, in the most unexpected...
