Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

Emily and Kevin: Their Wedding Story

Kevin’s treasure chest for Emily. By far one of the sweetest gifts I’ve ever seen one of my grooms bestow upon his bride! So many great moments captured during Emily and Kevin’s big day, but this sweet image of his niece and nephew walking down the aisle together is one of my FAVORITES. Awwwwww! Catholic...

December Self-Portrait: 12 Months of Fun, Let’s End It with Snow!

December is the first month since March when I haven’t HAD to get my camera out. Entering that stretch of the year where there are no family sessions and no weddings on the horizon. And, as a lot of you fellow photographers know, after months spent constantly wielding it at every opportunity, it’s nice for...

The Murphy-Haywood Family

It’s not every day you get a prospective client who wants something a little different. When Ali contacted me back in September, it was with that goal in mind. Surrreee she wanted those images that look great on the Christmas card. But what she was really after was documenting more of everyday life and all...

What I’m Lovin’ Round-up: Take 11

1) “Room” by Emma Donoghue: My friend Stacey picked this book for our local book club’s fall selection and I was COMPLETELY wrapped up in its pages from start to finish. It’s such a fast read, with a storyline that is original and harrowing but beautiful at the same time. I gushed about it earlier...

Bergstrom Family: Sneak Peek

I don’t know where the past 10 years have gone. It seems like time just flies (isn’t that what everybody says?) So when I sat down and tried to recall how long it’s been that I’ve known Emily, I did one of those mental double takes that involved a lot of capital letters and exclamation...

Jennifer and Brandon: The Engagement

Jennifer has a special place in my student-lovin’ heart. When I first started my job at Ball State nearly three years ago, Jennifer was one of my office’s student employees. She was calm, cool and collected in a way that made her seem light years older than most of her peers in the college crowd...

Emily and Kevin: Sneak Peek

I can’t think of a better way to end my 2010 wedding season than photographing Emily and Kevin’s big day. Surrounded by friends and family in a BEAUTIFUL Catholic church in downtown Indianapolis, these two tied the knot and celebrated in a way that made me wish I could have a reception again just to...

November Self-Portrait: Notes from the Tub

Prior to this month, I could have counted on one hand the number of baths I’d taken in…ohhhh, the past 20 years of my life. People, when I say I am not a bath person, I mean it passionately.
But we’ve had quite the month of conundrums in the Werner household; both issues stemming from the...

Nieces and nephews and never enough time

Living only an hour away from where I’m from, I make it back to Fort Wayne pretty often. But, nowadays, it seems like those trips are the kind where I see more of my clients than I do my family! With all the traveling I’ve done this fall, it was a refreshing change to have...

Every once in awhile…

You find an artist whose work stops you in your tracks. And then you have to send out frantic emails to your friends saying, “Please listen to this.” And then you remember, oh yeah, you have a blog. So make sure to tell them too.
So, please, introduce yourselves to Ernest Ellis. I’m stuffing myself on...
