Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

December Self-Portrait: A Very Pinterest Christmas

Thinking back to unwrapping Christmas gifts with Nick this year makes me laugh all over again. You see, this year, I didn’t really want anything. I was horrible about giving my husband hints on what to get me, but, about three weeks ago, he told me he had a few gifts in mind and smiled...

What I’m Lovin’ Round-up: December 2011

1) Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel: I first started using this stuff years ago, when one of my best friends fell for the scent and promptly introduced me to it. I rediscovered it holiday shopping this season at Sephora and every morning in the shower, fall in love all over again with its citrus-y smell....

Ten on Tuesday: December ‘11 Edition

1. What is your favorite online-only store?
It’s a tie between Amazon and Etsy…but my checking account would probably tell you Amazon.
2. Do you enjoy wrapping gifts?
Ehhh…if you’re asking if I’m one of those gals who goes “all out” with artistic bows and such, then, no. But I don’t mind it. I like to help my...

Season’s greetings, 2011 style

Hoping this weekend holiday is filled with laughter, love and family. Merry Christmas to everyone*!
*This was our Christmas card we sent out this year — after not doing cards last year, I’m so glad I went for it this year! I’ve LOVED getting them in return in the mail from friends (what can I...

Pacific Northwest: Last stop, Seattle!

Seattle was our last stop on our Pacific Northwest vacation (believe me, if I coulda, I would have kept us chuggin’ right on up to Vancouver!) Another gorgeous city, one that Nick fell in love with because it’s right on a port. And if ever a man loved water, it’s my husband….
No sooner did we...

Pacific Northwest: 48 Hours of Fun in Portland

Ahhhhh….back to vacation blogging! It’s been some time now since I blogged the first leg of our November West Coast trip (but judging by the sweet comments, you all loved that leg as much as we did!) so now I’m back to share part 2, or, as I also like to call it “48 Hours...

Lessons in leaving social media (momentarily) behind

I thought it would be hard to (again) give up on social media for awhile. Admittedly, I peeked once or twice at Facebook last week to see if anyone had posted anything on my wall, but overall, December’s social media fast was affirmative in the way I wanted it to be. Meaning, I remembered that...

A season to slow down

Earlier this year, I put myself on a week-long Web diet. No Facebook. No Twitter. No blogging. It was 7 days without the nagging demand in my mind to check up (and check in) on the Internet every hour of every day. Though it was hard to fight that temptation at first, I can’t begin...

Bailey and Kyle: The Engagement

One of my favorite elements of an engagement session is getting to know my clients better. Granted, I’m sure the pace of an engagement session seems fast to them, but trust me, it’s nothing compared to a wedding day! No time to chit chat in formal wear when every minute of the day has a...

November Book Review: Your Baby in Pictures by Me Ra Koh

I’d be lying if I said reading this book didn’t inspire me on creative ways to capture my own future children. BUT, there’s no news on that front as of now (but thanks to those who’ve been asking haha). Really, picking this up was a quick read for me and a good time...
