Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

What I’m Lovin’ Round-up: Take 13

Whew, was it ever a month of good stuff to love! Here’s a peek at some of what had me talkin’ (and sendin’ emails to friends) in January:
1) An Object of Beauty: I know a LOT about Steve Martin the Comedian (he’s one of my faves; seriously, Father of the Bride? I will drop everything...

Living Room: Mood Board

I mentioned in yesterday’s post about how I’m kind of obsessed with the Young House Love team and I’ve always taken such an interest in their mood board features. Can it be a lot of work to put one of these mood boards together? Yes. But they really do help you to take stock...

Living Room Inspiration

If I showed you the folder on my desktop in which I’ve stuffed months and months’ worth of design inspiration, you’d laugh at me and ask if I did anything else at night. But the truth is, I’ve been scheming up ideas for my home ever since the day we bought it (and so, if...

New images, same fresh lookin’ Web site

I’ll be honest and say I’m like a lot of other photographers out there who build a Web site. And then, once it’s built, promptly forget about it. Kind of like, “It’s there now, so I can let it be, right?” Which is so silly of me to think, but it’s easy to let the...

The hours of my day

I spend so many months of the year working and dreaming about this particular season. When life slows down and I’m cooped inside because there’s four inches of snow on the ground and being outdoors is miserable. It’s a summer conversation that plays out in my head when I’m neck deep in editing and have...

Ten on Tuesday: January ‘11 Edition

1. What’s your favorite color to paint your nails?
Confession: I don’t paint my nails. Like, EVER. It’s just one of those random girly things I wish I had more patience to do. I think the last time I did, it was for Halloween in 2009 and it was some shade of ravishing red (which is...

It’s award show season—and I’m a glutton for punishment

It’s that time of year again: When the pages of celebrity ‘zines fill up with pictures of Hollywood’s glam ladies and dapper men. When everyone’s buzzing about the year’s best films. When you can’t escape the television and its promotion of awards shows. And you know what folks? I’m a sucker for A-L-L of it....

#67…check and mark! (and a January ‘11 self-portrait)

#67) Purchase a laptop
The purpose of this post is three-fold: First(fold) let me introduce Florence (aka, my new laptop). Having a laptop to take with me to my 2011 weddings is going to allow me to back up images on site as needed (whew!) and work toward a goal of creating slideshows for clients at...

WPPI 2011: I’m going. Are you going? Let’s meet!

If you’re a photographer who’s been active in the industry for a while, chances are you’re familiar with WPPI. It’s the biggest convention and trade show for photographers in the industry and, for the past few years, I’ve sat sidelined, feeling a bit like the one person on the planet who didn’t make it to...

Favorite Music Finds of 2010

I’m a little behind in doing this for 2010, but I like that I’ve started a tradition for myself of keeping tabs on my favorite music finds of each year. (For a refresher on past years, here’s my picks in 2008 and my picks in 2009 (which, unfortunately, because iTunes shut down LaLa, you can...
