Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

Lauren and Kody: The Engagement

Lauren and Kody’s engagement session was one I’d been looking forward to since Lauren and I sat down over lattes in February and gabbed for two hours. What I love about her is knowing with 100 percent certainty that she booked me for me. Not because I happened to be “some photographer who’d do”, but...

What I’m Lovin’ Round-Up: June 2011

1) My Ray Ban aviators: So technically I bought these at the end of May, but it’s really been the month of June I’ve gotten to break them in. I have coveted a pair of Ray Bans for so long (like, before I had my driver’s license long) and could never justify buying them because...

Ten on Tuesday: June ‘11 Edition

1. What’s the perfect meal?
Oh man, these “perfect” questions are so hard! I’m gonna go specific with this question, so I can think of two that readily come to mind:
MEAL No. 1: The time Nick and I ate at this hole-in-the-wall (but seriously gourmet) restaurant called Bonge’s (if you’re reading this and live in Indiana and...

Melissa and Andrew: Sneak Peek

I’m getting ready to leave for Michigan with Nick to see U2 tonight, but before we head north to get our Bono on, I wanted to take a few minutes and post a sneak peek from my Fort Wayne wedding yesterday with Melissa and Andrew. A beautiful bride and groom plus an absolutely BEAUTIFUL, 75-degree...

Jennifer and Chris: The Engagement

OK, so, truly, I adore all of my 2011 couples. Honest I do. But I’d been lying if I didn’t admit to being a teeny tiny extra smitten with Jennifer and Chris. These two bowled me over with their fun ideas for their engagement session—I just loved how they embraced the occasion and set out...

The Swanson Family

Mandy was a bridesmaid last fall in the wedding of one of my sweetest brides to date, Ashley. She was pregnant at Ashley’s wedding, and shortly after she gave birth, contacted me about wanting to do a family session. In the weeks leading up to our evening together, the excitement in her emails kept building...

Sweatin’ to the oldies

It happened a few weeks ago: Nick borrowed my car to run an errand and, when he got back, forgot to lock it back up. Easy enough mistake, right? Well, that was the night a thief decided to take my iPod and my GPS unit FROM MY DRIVEWAY. Talk about feeling violated. Yeesh.
I was upset...

Eileen and Chris: Sneak Peek

Nick and I had a l-o-n-g weekend—it started Friday with a drive up to Michigan City where we spent the weekend reveling in our close friends’ wedding celebration. Nick was Chris’s best man on Saturday and Chris—a talented photographer himself—graciously trusted me to document their big day. I’ve never shot a beach wedding before, so...

#34…check and mark!

#34) Cook Indian food
Good heavens, when’s the last time I checked in on my 101 in 1001 list? Too long, right? (Not that you all are keeping track, but I am. And I like to pretend I’m having a conversation with you guys, so that’s why I asked.) I thought I’d revisit the list and...

Annie and Ryan: The Engagement

There are a myriad of reasons why I encourage my clients to take me up on the offer of an engagement shoot with their wedding package. Of course the pictures that are the result are the best part, but, for me, what I value most is the opportunity to REALLY get to know my clients....
