Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

What I’m Lovin’ Round-up: August 2011

1) Better Oats’ RAW Pure & Simple Oatmeal: Here’s the thing—I love oatmeal. But I hate making it. My husband can attest that when milk and the boiling of it are involved, I inevitably scorch the heck out of the pan. Soooo, I took a liking some time ago to Kashi Instant Oatmeal. But THEN,...

Odds & Ends

I’m doing that….thing again. The one where I have a stack of odds and ends in my inboxes that trails from movie trailers to interesting news stories to just, well, cool artsy stuff that friends and co-workers have shared with me and I’m all, “Oooh, I need to remember to share this with so-and-so.” And...

Emily: Portraits

I don’t remember when I first heard from Emily. But when that email landed in my inbox, it was filled with sweet comments and a “I’d really love to meet you sometime!” Emily is an Indy-area photographer herself (who also just landed a job teaching kindergarten—right, Emily?!) She’s so sweet and will be helping...

Ten on Tuesday: August ‘11 Edition

1. What color are your toenails painted?
OPI’s “A Oui Bit of Red”

2. What color are your fingernails painted?
There’s no polish on these 10 digits; in fact, MAYBE once a year can I say my nails are painted. I don’t have the patience to do it (though I love the results), and I hate how, a...

August Self-Portrait: My couch tour of California

Maybe it’s because God knows California has a special place in my heart. That, if I hadn’t put my roots down here in the Midwest (with a loving family, husband, friends and great jobs), that I’d be a West Coast girl in a white-hot minute. But since I’m not (and chances are, never will be),...

Shandry and John: Their Wedding Story

In addition to her emerald-cut diamond engagement ring, Shandry wore this beautiful antique ring of her great-grandmother’s (her something old!) and a sweet pair of flats. John was so adorably nervous as he waited for Shandry to come upstairs for their first look. As I told the pair of them, better to get the nerves...

California Session Sneak Peek: Inna’s Family

A few months before I left for a trip to visit a handful of dear, dear girlfriends in California, I had an inquiry on my Facebook business page from a sweet gal living in Los Angeles by the name of Inna. She happened to be the mother of four kiddos and noted in a comment,...

#97…check and mark!

#97) Go waterskiing
Earlier this summer, when Nick and I were up in Michigan for the U2 concert, we spent a day on the lake with our friend, Layne, who just so happens to have an incredible speed boat. A speed boat equipped with everything necessary to water ski.
I should share with you all that...

Jenny and Todd: Destination Wedding

Last month, I spent a good chunk of my Fourth of July weekend doing what I love to do on weekends—photographing a wedding! But this one was all sorts of special as I accompanied Louisville photographer and close friend Courtney Reece to a very special destination wedding on Sanibel Island in Florida. It’s always such...
