Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

What I’m Lovin’: February 2012

1) The Vow: I’m a sucker every February for the chick flick that becomes the flavor of this Valentine lovin’ month. And while I’d heard from some people who left the theater unsatisfied with The Vow, I have to say, it was the best chick flick I’d seen in a looonngg time. A story based...

February Self-Portrait 2012: A few thoughts on turning 30

Earlier this week I turned 30. That’s a big number, yeah? Except, it didn’t feel all that big of a deal to me. Not until others started making it so.
There were reminders from friends. “So, how does it feel to spend your last week in your 20s?” Moments that made me pause and think, “Oh...

The best birthday a girl could ask for…

I would have loved to see the look on my face when I walked from our garage into our sunroom Saturday night. Nick had just taken me to a fancy dinner for my birthday and I was feeling like a special girl for having such a sweet man in my life. And then I opened...

Produce bags that have stolen my heart

I know, I know… This is the biggest non sequitur of a blog post ever. I’m talking about produce bags like they’re some fictional character akin to Edward Cullen. But I’m telling you what, friends — I LOVE THESE BAGS.
I’ve been on the eco-bandwagon at the grocery for some time, abandoning those ubiquitous plastic bags...

Chanel and Kyle: At Home Session

At my job at Ball State, I have a wonderful graduate assistant, Chanel. She’s worked for me for over three years and, in every way, is the little sister I never had (I have an older sister I adore, for those keeping tab). We’ve gotten close in the years we’ve worked together (as I often...

#16 … check and mark! and a revamp of my 101 in 1001 list

Early last month, I had an email in my inbox, letting me know someone had linked to my 101 in 1001 list. That someone was the sweet Deborah Zoe, who mentioned my name as one in a group of awesome photographers who inspired her in starting her own 101 list.
Which prompted me to ask myself,...

What I’m Lovin’ Round-up: January 2012

Whew…seriously, what happened to January? Not that I’m sad to see one of the most drab months of the year go, just sayin’, February snuck up on me! So, a little late, but still worth a post, here’s January’s picks:
1) The Orphan Master’s Son by Adam Johnson: Whew…this book is a hard one to read....
