I totally get it. I am starting my business this year and it completely consumes me! Every moment and especially during the moments where I am supposed to be doing something else. I am in the last week of writing my bachelor thesis and then I am free! Free to think about my business in the shower, at night, during breakfast, etc…

Gail, I stumbled on your blog through Betsy King’s and thoroughly enjoy it. Thanks for this beautiful post. It is difficult to separate our business from ourselves, isn’t it? I’m expecting a baby any week now and am trying to figure out how I’ll balance my passion for my work (and time!) with a new baby. Love your blog! Keep up the good work! Hahaha I’ll trade you? I find it all too easy to get addicted to a book and spend a ton of time reading when I should be working on my to-do list. My goal this year is to work more and have less personal time. lol.

Reading this brought tears to my eyes. It is so easy to get overwhelmed by all the things we do for our business to make it successful. But our business is not a success if the important people in our lives are not being loved and cared for, because we are too busy capturing other peoples love. I pray that you really enjoy your 36 hours of pure bliss. Go you!

Good for you! I too am obsessed with my biz, but this year I have realized that taking a step back and focusing more on some other things (like my hubby and my kids) is going to be much more rewarding and also help me to become an even better business owner Letting go gives us so much more freedom!

Amen to that! I say that as I sit here in Riyadh, across the kitchen table from John. We are both CONSTANTLY at our laptops working – seriously 24/7. It is never ending. I just pitched the 36 hour rule to him (or even 30 would be great!) and he seems keen. Fingers crossed!
