#40 Have Nick and I’s pictures taken professionally again
Even if she wasn’t one of the most talented photographers I know, I’d be lucky to call Bobbi Sheridan of bobbi+mike such a dear friend. If you’ve met Bobbi, you know she’s got a personality that’s…well, it’s like rainbows, confetti and Lucille Ball sass all wrapped up in one individual (do you like that description of you Bobbi?
) . Every time I’m lucky enough to spend time with her, the hours pass too fast as we talk about photography, girly stuff, design, music, life as a 20something…..you name it.
When we first talked a few months ago about the idea of her taking photos of Nick and I — something the two of us hadn’t had done in the four years since our wedding day — I crossed my fingers under the dinner table and hoped we’d be lucky enough to find time in Bobbi and Mike’s BUSY schedule to make it happen. August was the lucky month and I have to say, I am OVER THE MOON in love with the results.
We took Bobbi down to the area of Indiana (Brown County) where Nick grew up. It’s so special to him and, in turn, so special to me. Going through this process reminded me of what it feels like to be on the other side of the camera—the nerves that come with getting your picture taken, the “Do I look weird in this pose?” moments that accompany the session, the anticipation of seeing the results on the blog…I can’t recommend a photo session like this to couples out there enough. It’s a powerful thing to have a reminder of your love not just for the two of you, but for your future children. And to hear my husband gush about his “beautiful wife”? Priceless.
I know Nick and I will cherish this day and these photographs always. Thank you Bobbi
xoxo, g
