Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

I love long walks on the beach. And taking photos — OF COURSE.

Where I’ve been, what I’ve been up to, and why I love my photography girlfriends

There’s a part of me that feels guilty for letting this blog collect cobwebs…but then I sit back and realize two things: 1) I’m pregnant and seriously, it’s affecting my willpower to put words to a page. These days, just getting up from the couch involves a mental conversation in my head that goes something...

Eagleman Family Sneak Peek

This is a shoot that’s been YEARS in the making …. Erik and Erin are sweet high school classmates of Nick’s who I’ve gotten to consider as good friends over the years as well. When the two of them moved to Switzerland three years ago, I took an avid interest in following their lives from...

Sneak Peek: The Ahaus Family

Such a great family to photograph and I have lots more to share but this shot really stood out to me as I was culling through the images I took of the Ahaus family on Sunday. Candid, laid-back, fun (and funny). That was pretty much the theme of this whole shoot….heck, that’s pretty much this...

What I’m Lovin’ Round-Up: April 2012

1) The Five-Year Engagement: While one of my favorite photo girls, Tina, was in town visiting me for the first time over the weekend, we decided to have a date with Jason Segel and see his new movie. Sweet in many parts and oh so silly in so many others, we found ourselves giggling throughout...

Baby Cora

When I headed to Kerry and William’s home, I was so excited to photograph their new little bundle of joy, Cora. What made this all the more special is (though Kerry didn’t know it at the time) I was about 11 weeks pregnant at this shoot! Thinking ahead to what it will be like to...

Cara and Brent: Their Wedding Story

Cara and Brent had one of the sweetest first looks—no real nerves, just giddy excitement over finally getting to see one another on their big day. And because I had the awesome assistance of a wonderful friend and second shooter, Brock Childs, I was able to capture two amazing perspectives. Here’s mine: And here’s Brock’s...

April Self-Portrait: Oh boy (or girl) are we excited for fall!

I feel like I can finally let out a big ‘ol secret and that’s to announce that Nick and I are expecting a baby! We stayed mum until I was safely out of my first trimester but now that we’ve heard our little one’s heartbeat, told both of our families over Easter (which was SUCH...

Notes on a Business 1.2

I haven’t decided yet if this is going to be a monthly or more of an “as I feel inspired” series, but I do know April is a perfect time for me to write about a topic I’ve wanted to explore more with all of you: TAXES.
Ooohhhh, such a dreaded word, right? Well, here’s what...

Hannah and Garrett: Their Wedding Story

What girl doesn’t want her big day to start by stepping into a pair of glittery Badgley Mischka heels? While I stuck by the girls at Hannah’s parents, my good friend and second shooter, Chris Bergin, was capturing the boys getting fancy back at the inn. The mother of one of Hannah’s friends had this...

Baby Cora: Sneak Peek

In between the weddings I’m editing from my busy March, I’m squeezing in a bit of time to go through the images I shot during a recent family session with the sweet-as-can-be Lea family. They have a little man, Bradford, who’s 19 months, but for now, with this post, I’ll keep the focus on the...
