Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

I love long walks on the beach. And taking photos — OF COURSE.

The kindness of friends

The older I get, the more I understand that the best kinds of friends to have are those who pay attention. To you. To the stories you tell. The anxieties you have. What your favorite color is. Whose music you love best. I’m blessed to have a few of these friendships in my life and...

What I’m Lovin’ Round-up: Take 6

1) Roman Holiday — I had all these grand ambitions to pop-culture-educate myself on all things Europe (I even added all those movies about Queen Elizabeth to my Netflix queue!) before taking off there but as this trip draws closer, a busy shooting schedule has kept me from this mission. With one great exception. During...

Countdown to “Eclipse” (aka ‘I’m ridiculous’)

I watched the Twilight crew promote the release of “Eclipse” on Oprah a few weeks back and remember thinking, “Psssttt…..FOR REAL, who are these women who host PREMIERE parties at their house with RED CARPETS?” That is so ridiculous….
Not ridiculous? Blogging about “Eclipse.” Oh, and going to see “Eclipse” tonight. At midnight. Okay, maybe this,...

#62 … check and mark! (and a June self-portrait)

#62) Hang up a hammock in the backyard
Growing up, there were two places I always dreamed would be the PERFECT place to read a book. A window seat like this. Annndddd a hammock. There wasn’t a window seat in my childhood home. And the nylon version of a hammock that stood on a stand in...

10 years gone … just like that

Tonight I’ll head back to Fort Wayne to spend time with high school classmates, some of whom I haven’t seen since we walked across that stage together at graduation on a hot June night back in 2000. I remember, when I was a teenager, watching “Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion” and thinking that...

The Smith Family

I don’t know where to start in talking about this family. Do I talk about my first impression upon walking inside their restored Victorian house? Because my jaw might have dropped a little once I did. And then I might have spent the rest of the evening trying to convince April that she needs to...

Who says they all have to be perfect?

A few weeks ago, my friend Jess of Studio3z Photography wrote a fantastic post about how she struggles to fight the tendency to make every shot “perfect.” I loved what she had to say about how, too often, we snap and snap away with the attitude of, “Well, I’m going to trash a lot of...

How Facebook corralled me into creating a fan page

For a long time now I’ve been comfortable posting my photography work to my personal Facebook page. I didn’t want to create a business page because a) it’d be one more thing for me to update and b) who isn’t a smidge annoyed by all the random messages they get from people they don’t know...
