Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

I love long walks on the beach. And taking photos — OF COURSE.

A living room I can love

Remember that one time? When I said I was going to remodel my living room? Yeah, well, I don’t blame you if it’s slipped your mind After (no joke) years spent dreaming about the remakings of this room, I found that, when the time came to set the wheels in motion, I wasn’t...

The Gorjup Family: 2011 Portraits

When your best friend gets in touch with you about wanting family portraits for the year, you think one of two things: 1) The pressure is on to deliver because, well….SHE’S YOUR BEST FRIEND and 2) There’s really no pressure at all because, well, SHE’S YOUR BEST FRIEND. Tracy is my second sister…my biggest believer...

A cautionary tale & the importance of back-up gear

When I was out at WPPI earlier this year, I talked with a friend who told me about a nightmare scenario in which the mirror fell out of her 5D camera while shooting a wedding (I hear this referred to a lot as “blowing the shutter” but not exactly sure if they are one and...

Lauren and Kody: Their Wedding Story

Lauren’s Badgley Mischka shoes were TO DIE FOR. I think I spent 15 minutes photographing them and then tried (unsuccessfully) to stuff them in my Shootsac – hahaNot to mention Lauren’s Robin Jillian gown, which fit her ever so beautifully. Isn’t she a stunner? I loved that the girls all got ready at...

October Book Review: Selling the Invisible by Harry Beckwith

OK, if I were to, you know, ever meet Harry Beckwith, I think I’d check to see how tall he was…if he had pointy little ears and talked funny because after reading his “Selling the Invisible“, I am CONVINCED the man is Yoda!
Of all the creative/business books I’ve read so far this year, I think...

What I’m Lovin’ Round-up: October 2011

1) Season 2 of “The Walking Dead”: Nick and I came late to “The Walking Dead” fanwagon, having jumped aboard when we saw the first season (which is only six episodes) over the summer. Season 2 started earlier this month and while the pacing of these first few episodes has been uneven, there’s been enough...

Happy Halloween!

We hadn’t carved pumpkins in years. And the last time we did, there was a cordless drill involved and toothpicks to repair the elaborate pattern I attempted and then abandoned in disgust.
This year, feeling all festive, we bought ourselves a book of patterns and some crafting tools at Lowe’s and went to town on our...

October Self-Portrait: Hallelujah, it still fits!

I believe there are two camps of women in the handling of wedding dresses after the big day has come and gone: 1) the super cautious type who actually gets serious about its preservation, takes it to the cleaner, and then refuses to open it for 20 years in hopes her own child will someday...

Cara and Brent: Sneak Peek

A beautiful fall evening, a sweet couple whose wedding I’m photographing in 2012 AND an heirloom tandem bike for their engagement session? Well, that’s Cara and Brent for you. I’m in love with the images we captured of them earlier this week. Here’s just a peek until I can share the rest with you next...

Anne and Ryan: Their Wedding Story

Anne’s florals for the day by Tiffany Mullen at Circle City Designers were just GORGEOUS. Anne and Ryan opted to see each other before the wedding and it was such a special moment. Doing so also gave us LOTS of time to stroll the grounds of River Glen Country Club for portraits of this sweet...
