Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

I love long walks on the beach. And taking photos — OF COURSE.

A season to slow down

Earlier this year, I put myself on a week-long Web diet. No Facebook. No Twitter. No blogging. It was 7 days without the nagging demand in my mind to check up (and check in) on the Internet every hour of every day. Though it was hard to fight that temptation at first, I can’t begin...

Bailey and Kyle: The Engagement

One of my favorite elements of an engagement session is getting to know my clients better. Granted, I’m sure the pace of an engagement session seems fast to them, but trust me, it’s nothing compared to a wedding day! No time to chit chat in formal wear when every minute of the day has a...

November Book Review: Your Baby in Pictures by Me Ra Koh

I’d be lying if I said reading this book didn’t inspire me on creative ways to capture my own future children. BUT, there’s no news on that front as of now (but thanks to those who’ve been asking haha). Really, picking this up was a quick read for me and a good time...

Laurie and Joe: Their Wedding Story

Laurie and Joe’s wedding took place in the ever-gorgeous St. Mary’s Catholic Church in downtown Indianapolis. Laurie’s dress was stunning with a cascade of ruffles and her purple flats were the perfect accent to the color scheme of the big day. Is she not one of the most stunning brides I’ve photographed, or what? A...

Pacific Northwest: San Francisco, Mendocino & the Oregon Coast

A crazy late November schedule has meant I’ve had to be patient with myself in getting around to pulling together the first of a few vacation recap posts from our trip in early November out to the Pacific Northwest. As I worked on these images last night, all I could think was a) we got...

What I’m Lovin’ Round-up: November 2011

1) A Very She & Him Xmas: Every year, I always feel compelled to stock up on at least one new Xmas album. And friends, when it comes to Xmas music, well, I say ANYTHING GOES. But I was thrilled that one of my favorite duos in recent memory was putting out an album of...

Ten on Tuesday: November ‘11 Edition

1. What is your favorite month?
I’d have to say the month we just left. October is when fall explodes and I just love the colors of the season, the light of the day (that golden shade no other time of the year can match), and how I can pull my sweater collection out again. Oh...

November Self-Portrait: A New Way of Seeing Things

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” – Henry Miller
When I travel,  I truly believe I am the best version of me. There are those who loathe the idea of leaving home … of crowded airports and late flights and the confusion of intimidating new places. Not me. I...

Bailey and Kyle: Sneak Peek

My last engagement session of the year and I’m ending 2011 with the sweet (and crazy attractive) Bailey and Kyle. I’ve got plenty more to share with you all from their time in front of my camera, but for now, here’s a few frames that caught my eye while editing. This whole idea—from the wardrobe...

Cara and Brent: The Engagement

Two things I L-O-V-E about Cara and Brent: 1) They are cuuuuuuute and affectionate in front of my camera. 2) They went out of their way to make their engagement session with me very personal to them. When Cara shared that what they wanted most was to capture photos of their new life together living...
