Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

#94) Create a Tumblr account
If you took a look at my inbox, you’d see that I e-mail myself. A lot. With subject lines that start with “Dont’ forget this link” or “You should post that to Twitter sometime”. You think I’m joking, right? But sadly, I’m a dork who’s totally not.
A few months back, I...

#87) Go to a fancy New Year’s Eve Party
I put this one on my list last year because I could not recall the last SUPER FUN New Year’s Eve I’d had …in….ohhhhh YEARS. I’m pretty sure it was my senior year in high school. Which meant, this year, I really wanted to party like it...

#5) Go sledding
Hope all my blog readers had an awesome holiday break! Whew… I don’t know about you all, but I ZONED OUT for the past 6 days! When family get-togethers happen, I let loose and relax 100 percent, visiting with everybody, eating, gabbing, watching cable, reading books, eating, knitting, gabbing some more…. And a...

#57) Create Christmas ornaments for my past wedding clients of each year
It can be difficult for all of us who are photographers to find the time necessary to go out of our way and do a little extra “something something” for our clients. Especially at this time of year. And even if you DO find...

#66) Purchase the 35 1.4 lens

The longer I photograph people, the more content I find myself with my gear. I’m not someone who feels like I have to chase every new camera body that comes out (for those who’ve asked, I still shoot with my trust, 2-year-old Canon 5D and love it!) and I’ve gotten...

#1 Travel Europe
I realize it’s been THREE MONTHS since Nick and I traveled to Europe which prompts me to ask, “WHERE THE HECK DOES THE TIME GO?” So in an effort to cross this one off the list before I forget it any longer, I thought I’d throw it up on the ‘ol blog today....

#63 Bake a pie. From scratch.
I put this one on the ‘ol 101 in 1001 because I’ve always been intimidated by the idea. The reason being is two-fold: 1) I’m not a baker. A cook, yes. A baker … not so much. 2) My mom is the most amazing cook AND baker. I’ve actually blogged...

#40 Have Nick and I’s pictures taken professionally again
Even if she wasn’t one of the most talented photographers I know, I’d be lucky to call Bobbi Sheridan of bobbi+mike such a dear friend. If you’ve met Bobbi, you know she’s got a personality that’s…well, it’s like rainbows, confetti and Lucille Ball sass all wrapped up...

#47) Shoot my first maternity shoot
It was early spring when I made this 101 in 1001 list, and shortly after I first blogged about it, April contacted me. “So how about I make that #47 happen for you?” I got to photograph April’s family earlier this summer and I think it’ll always be one of...

#62) Hang up a hammock in the backyard
Growing up, there were two places I always dreamed would be the PERFECT place to read a book. A window seat like this. Annndddd a hammock. There wasn’t a window seat in my childhood home. And the nylon version of a hammock that stood on a stand in...
