Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

Chrissy and Ross: The Engagement

Chrissy and Ross have that casual kind of love that’s easy to pick up on if you spend a bit of time with them. The kind where, even if no one was there with them, you know there’d be hand-holding going on. A few stolen kisses maybe. I know ’cause even when they weren’t on...

Mandi and Sam: The Engagement

I went out on a limb for Mandi and Sam’s engagement—not literally of course, but figuratively? Definitely. While out location scouting, I passed this property and, far off in the distance, spotted this field of amazing yellow flowers. There was nothing else around like it for miles and I felt something come over me. “You...

Chrissy and Ross: Sneak Peek

I sat in my car, waiting on Chrissy and Ross to arrive for our engagement session and didn’t like the look of those clouds to the north. Not one bit. I said a little prayer we could please, please, PLEASE get these photos taken before a storm blew through Indianapolis Saturday. Because these two were...

Laurie and Joe: The Engagement

There’s nothing more intimidating than meeting someone for the first time and then, five minutes later, sticking a camera in their face to take their photographs. As nervous as I am at the idea, I try to remember my clients are just as nervous too! With Laurie and Joe, this picture-taking business came TOO easy....

Sneak Peek: Mandi and Sam

I found a MAGICAL place to photograph Mandi and Sam’s engagement session on Sunday morning. And by magical, I mean rain boots-and-good-attitudes were required of us to get there. Lucky for me I have amazing clients who didn’t mind coming back to the car with soaking wet jeans.
You two, I told you it was worth...

Laurie and Joe: Sneak Peek

First engagement session of the year and blessed with a sun-drenched afternoon to photograph an amazing couple that is sweet-as-can-be, super in love and this INSANELY good-looking?
Oh, 2011, I think I’m gonna like you

Jennifer and Brandon: The Engagement

Jennifer has a special place in my student-lovin’ heart. When I first started my job at Ball State nearly three years ago, Jennifer was one of my office’s student employees. She was calm, cool and collected in a way that made her seem light years older than most of her peers in the college crowd...

Jennifer and Brandon: Sneak Peek

Oh fall … just keep cooperating with me for a few more weeks, okay? If you give me weather (chilly though it was) like the beautiful evening I had with Jennifer and Brandon for their recent engagement session, I will not complain come winter. Well, I’ll at least wait until that second snow to start...

Melissa and Andrew: The Engagement

High school sweethearts, these two. I loved riding around finding locations for our shoot together because as I listened to Melissa talk about how she and Andrew started dating and how long they’d been together, I not only saw how much she loved this man in her life, I heard it in her voice. Warm,...

Chris and Eileen: The Engagement

Chris has been an incredible photographer for a l-o-n-g time. I remember being too intimidated to talk much about photography with him when we worked together at the newspaper (he as a photographer, myself as a reporter). I was just getting started shooting myself and, despite our friendship and the fact he’s one of Nick’s...
