Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

Where I Want to Keep the Focus in 2012

The other day, I spotted a Tweet perfect for my frame of mind: “If you don’t have time to write down your goals, where are you going to find the time to accomplish them?”
I’m a big believer in goal setting. In the knowledge (and I think there’s scientific proof to this) that when you...

2011 in Review

I thought I’d stir things up a bit with my 2011 in photos review and share a few of my most meaningful personal posts from the past year (and my apologies if you’re all, “Isn’t she celebrating 2011 a wee bit late?” … the truth is, yes, yes I am. And I’m blaming Mr. Bronchitis...

Favorite Music Finds of 2011

If you know me well enough (or, really, barely at all – haha), you know my great affinity for good books and good music. For the past four years (which, that is hard to believe!), I’ve put together a year-end list of my favorite albums. Because they’re fun to look back on, here’s my picks...

On the mend….

I can’t believe it’s been nearly a week since I lasted check in on the blog! Sorry to have gone silent friends, but these past few days have been r-o-u-g-h. I managed to land both bronchitis and a sinus infection in this nasty bit of sickness going ’round and it knocked me flat. I don’t...

Best of 2011: The Favorites

I hope every photographer takes the time to compile a best-of-the-year collection of images. In doing so, you take the 20 minutes you never give yourself any other time of year to really look at all you’ve accomplished. Here I sit, having pulled together some of my favorite captures of 2011, and all I can...

Season’s greetings, 2011 style

Hoping this weekend holiday is filled with laughter, love and family. Merry Christmas to everyone*!
*This was our Christmas card we sent out this year — after not doing cards last year, I’m so glad I went for it this year! I’ve LOVED getting them in return in the mail from friends (what can I...

Pacific Northwest: Last stop, Seattle!

Seattle was our last stop on our Pacific Northwest vacation (believe me, if I coulda, I would have kept us chuggin’ right on up to Vancouver!) Another gorgeous city, one that Nick fell in love with because it’s right on a port. And if ever a man loved water, it’s my husband….
No sooner did we...

Pacific Northwest: 48 Hours of Fun in Portland

Ahhhhh….back to vacation blogging! It’s been some time now since I blogged the first leg of our November West Coast trip (but judging by the sweet comments, you all loved that leg as much as we did!) so now I’m back to share part 2, or, as I also like to call it “48 Hours...

Lessons in leaving social media (momentarily) behind

I thought it would be hard to (again) give up on social media for awhile. Admittedly, I peeked once or twice at Facebook last week to see if anyone had posted anything on my wall, but overall, December’s social media fast was affirmative in the way I wanted it to be. Meaning, I remembered that...

A season to slow down

Earlier this year, I put myself on a week-long Web diet. No Facebook. No Twitter. No blogging. It was 7 days without the nagging demand in my mind to check up (and check in) on the Internet every hour of every day. Though it was hard to fight that temptation at first, I can’t begin...
