Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

I really love …

Quirky, fun, creative calendars.

With this being the last month of ‘09, I dipped into the pocket book to purchase a few new lovely calendars to start the new year (the NEW DECADE …isn’t that insane?) off right. See, I’m a bit of a calendar junkie. I have to stop myself at just buying three for the year because if I could, I might pick a wall in my house and paper it with all the ones I come across. I’m not above picking out my calendars from the bargain bin at the mall kiosk, but when I think of it, I always get so much more satisfaction supporting artists who are doing their creative thing the same way I’m doing mine.

Which means I’m in love with this honeybee calendar I purchased for our kitchen from Hammerpress. Being a letterpress junkie, I love ALL of their stuff (seriously, if you’re a hot pink fan, this print is AUH-mazing!).

I also love the little calendar I had to have for my desk at work. It’s so small and fun and when I saw it at the Getty during my L.A. trip, I knew I had to have it! (Bonus: Having purchased it in L.A., I’m reminded of Cali every time I see it!)

A few other calendar options I love, love, LOVE and have to restrain myself from purchasing this year (although, I do REALLY need a calendar for my den..hmmmmm):

1) Alicia Bock’s 2010 Calendar I had Alicia’s calendar from ‘09 and a few of the prints I intend to hang in my kitchen. I love her work so much. There are a lot of photogs on etsy now who employ the Through The Viewfinder technique, but Alicia does it best. 2) Perpetual Paris Photo Collage What girl doesn’t want to have Paris hanging in her house? And I love that this is a buy-it-once kind of calendar. 3) Cabin and Cub Desk Calendar Maybe it’s because the scenes in this calendar remind me of the “See Jane Run” books I read from the library as the kid, but I like the quirk of this one. 4) Screen Printed Calendar I never tire of these cute little screen print calendars. 5) J. Hill Calendar This gal is a woman after my heart. Her series of prints and calendars of places she’s never been confirms there are others out there who dream of stuff like this the same way you and I do — only, you know, in her case, she’s made a living out of dreaming about it and I think that’s pretty darn cool. 6) French Bull Dog Calendar Thanks to following Jamie Delanie’s blog, I’m now smitten with Orchid Grey. So when she did a post about this calendar I about died. I’m OBSESSED with French bull dogs and because I’ll probably never own one (there’s a reason people like Martha Stewart are the type who can afford these adorable pups), this would probably be as close as I get!
