I don’t know what comes over me but it starts around this time of year, every year. My normal “Top 40 cynical” self starts turning the radio up when a Ke$sha song comes on in the car. And then the windows come down. And before you know it, I’m belting out right along with her to “Your love, your love, your love, is my drug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Ten months out of the year, you’d be more likely to ride along and hear Bon Iver or Andrew Bird or Iron & Wine playing in the car, but I make musical exceptions when the thermometer rises above 85 degrees. Folks, I EVEN GET DOWN WITH A LITTLE COUNTRY.
So here’s a peek at what I’ve dubbed GAIL’S OBNOXIOUS SUMMER MIX (2010 STYLE). If you want to sample any of these tunes (warning: some of them WILL get stuck in your head…THANKYOUVERYMUCH KATY PERRY), check out the iMix I made. I fully intend for these songs to keep me awake after a long day Saturday shooting a wedding! Windows down optional of course
