You can think of your wedding day when you’re a little girl and one thing you’ll never factor in to the fantasy is RAIN. People can post on your Facebook wall before your wedding not to worry, the skies will clear up. It’s not going to RAIN on your wedding day. Then the day comes and lo behold, there you are and there it is. Yep, that’s right. RAIN.
Here’s what I learned on Saturday: If there was a wedding to be shot in the RAIN, I’m so glad it was Eric and Michele’s special day. These two never balked at any of my requests. Not when a clap of thunder interrupted me asking the boys to step on a soggy golf course. Not when I asked this couple to sit on a damp set of steps in their finest attire. And not when I asked them to step outside, into more RAIN, at 11 o’clock for the last set of portraits of the night.
Michele and Eric, from the moment I met you two, I felt at ease with the both of you. I cannot thank you enough for carrying that ease over into your wedding day— one stressful enough without RAIN—and for proving that, really, on a day like Saturday, Mother Nature doesn’t matter. Not when you have love on your side.
