Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

What I’m Lovin’ Round-up: Take 3

1) Philosophy’s Raspberry Sorbet body wash: Or, really, ANY product from this wonderful company. But when my pal, Joy, got me this body wash last month, it took but one sniff and a good scrub to fall in love. There’s a recipe for raspberry sorbet on the bottle and every morning in the shower, I re-read it. One of these days, I’ll have it memorized and go make it :)

2) My Keel’s Simple Diary: Another fab birthday present that offers a twist on traditional journaling, it’s had me giggling lots in recent days. Consider the first entry, in which you’re asked the following:

Your day was (only choose one): (   ) a party.  (    ) a U-turn.  (   ) a smarty.

Or discovering quotes like this:

You like potato, I like potahto, we like French fries.

If you get one of these for a friend, I promise you you’ll be that cool gal who gets remembered as the person who giveth the best gifts. In this case, Michelle, this happens to be you :)

3) Jamie Oliver & his Food Revolution: I know what you’re thinking … it’s not healthy for me to say I love another man the way I love Jamie Oliver ’cause, you know, I’m a MARRIED WOMAN. But when I make meals for Nick from Jamie’s Food Revolution cookbook, well, he’s all “I LOVE JAMIE TOO!” I’m working on getting him just as psyched as I am for Friday night’s 2-hour premiere of Jamie’s Food Revolution reality show on ABC. (and great news for non-cable folks, you can watch it online too!) I am a HUGE fan of what Jamie is trying to do in this country. Now that the First Lady is right there backing him up, I hope we start to see real change in this country as far as what we put on our tables. It’s time to teach everybody to cook for themselves. I’ll get behind that!

4) She & Him’s Volume Two: Good grief if I talk any more about this duo, I may have a restraining order slapped on me by Zooey Deschanel’s attorneys, but for real, I.cannot.get.enough.of.their.sound. If you swap out Bret and Jemaine for Zooey and M. Ward you’d have me as Mel from Flight of the Conchords. Stand-out tracks on their new album, Volume Two, (which dropped today): Thieves, Don’t Look Back, Home, Gonna Get Along Without You Now (ah-huh, mm hmm)

5) Fantastic Mr. Fox: I know Up took home the Oscar, and I loved that film too. But in the high school cafeteria of the cartoon world, Up’s the school body president who’s also captain of the football team and pretty predictable in his Pixar-ness. Fantastic Mr. Fox, on the other hand, is that quirky fella with the guitar in the corner, who draws cool stuff in art class and comes up with the one-liners that make you laugh. I don’t purchase a lot of movies (let alone cartoons) but this one, out today on DVD, will make its way into the Werners’ DVD collection. One of the best films I saw in the theater in 2009.

March 23, 2010 - 8:14 pm Kelsey Bigelow - Oh my my my, lady. How I loved Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. Saw the preview episode on Sunday and cannot wait for the show to start. I adore his food- AND him! It's going to be fantabulous! I hope people get the message that pizza does not equal two grains in a school kid's diet! Yikes!

March 24, 2010 - 9:05 am Michelle Sidles - #3. I could talk to you ALL DAY about #3. I was tweeting about Food Revolution yesterday. It is SO good. And the fact that Mrs. Obama is working on school lunches makes me so happy! Our gardening is very much a result of not putting up with "the man" dictating what and how we eat anymore. It's about taking responsibility for our food and empowering ourselves to provide better quality foods (often with less cost to ourselves in the short and long term). I love when you do these lists. I feel like everytime you do I find some new common interest. And the Zooey "cotton commercials" totally have me hooked. ;) I better check out her music.

March 24, 2010 - 1:15 pm Tira J - YES! Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution! We watched it on Sunday night and CANNOT wait until Friday's episode. Ordering the cookbook right now for David's birthday. Funny and true story. After we watched the show Sunday night, David went to Costco and everything he purchased was FRESH! Fruit, nuts, veggies. Here's to eating healthy and taking care of America!

March 24, 2010 - 7:21 pm joy - So glad you're loving raspberry sorbet...see, belated Christmas gifts ARE fun! (And I'm feeling famous right now...two recent shout outs....for body wash, an apron and can opener.) HA HA HA! I'm such a funny shopper! Love you girl!

March 24, 2010 - 9:30 pm Ellen - Ashley got me that bodywash as a graduation gift! (that and the margarita flavor) I did the same thing. . . read the recipe daily and thought about making it. It is the best body wash!

March 25, 2010 - 8:17 am Kim - You are my long lost sister, I am sure of it! I couldn't agree more on your picks. Philosophy is perfect. I ran out of Purity made Simple face cleanser while in the UK and had to switch to something else (REN, bio active skincare, great stuff too btw!). Try their Falling in Love perfume - one of my faves! Jamie Oliver is too cute and too talented. This will be yet another cookbook to grace the top of my fridge. Fantastic Mr. Fox was a movie I borrowed thinking it would be background noise while I worked. WRONG! It had me transfixed from the very beginning. I just LOVE it!

March 28, 2010 - 8:44 pm jamie delaine - HAHAHH Mel from the Conchords. You CRACK me up.
