Gail Werner Photography bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Gail Werner is a central Indiana wedding and portrait photographer.
Here’s where she tells you she likes the feel of the ocean and the
taste of champagne. Oh wait …

Truth is, she does love the ocean (when she can make it to a
coast!), but what she loves more is documenting the lives of her
clients — big days, little moments, they all carry meaning and deserve
to be captured.

This blog is where Gail shares her current client work and don’t be
surprised to find plenty of personal antecedotes on here as well.
Because when it comes to her life, Gail’s pretty much an open book. And
speaking of books, well, she loves those too. And her husband. And her
dog. So stick around and find out what else she likes or head over to www.gailwernerphoto.com to take a peek at her portfolio. Want to get a hold of her? E-mail Gail at gail@gailwernerphoto.com.

And just for the record, Gail also likes pina coladas but draws the line at getting caught in the rain.

Gail Werner is available for travel to any location.

When he’s gone…

I miss the scent of his aftershave that lingers in the bathroom after he gets ready.
I miss the smell of the bacon he fries and the eggs he makes and the way he sits perched on a barstool reading the newspaper each morning.
I miss hearing him laugh in the other room over some ridiculous Internet find .
I miss reminding him to hang his towel up in the bathroom. Again.
I miss hearing about how his day went at work.
I miss being picked up for lunch.
I miss his pushing the cart at the grocery store so I don’t have to.
I miss watching him play tug-of-war with Daisy and her ridiculous football tug toy.
I miss his asking me “Does this shirt go with this tie?” or “What about this sweater with these pants?”
I miss hearing the key in the lock and his familiar footsteps on the front step.

And when he’s home…

I feel whole again.

February 9, 2010 - 10:20 pm carly - So cute, Gail. And to answer your question, I miss his dimples when he's gone. Also, I'll spend the whole day in a pair of his comfy sweatpants. Just because I miss him. :)

February 9, 2010 - 10:24 pm haley reid - your pup must tell really interesting secrets :) - your hubs looks so serious about it...hehe...love your work!

February 9, 2010 - 10:40 pm Nicole - Cuddling in bed with him. He'll reach over and put his arm around my waist, and pull me close to him. And we'll fall asleep like that. Until he starts his awful snoring. Truth be told, I probably miss that too. Loved this post!! Made me think about all the things that are so great about being married to my best friend. :)

February 10, 2010 - 11:05 am Erin Marie Hall - Ditto what Jamie said! I love my boyfriend but I can't wait to be able to write something like this about my husband! And your hubby pulls off the bearded look so well! :D

February 10, 2010 - 12:08 pm Erin - so sweet, gail! and what a good lookin' husband to boot. :) when erik is gone i miss our nightly dinners most. we tend to cook or at least prep together. most times we sit at the table chatting about our days or play games of cribbage (yes, while eating) and sometimes we'll watch a movie. whatever it is, we always eat together. and in turn, when we aren't together i generally end up with a bowl of cereal at, like, 10pm. i hope your man returns home soon!

February 10, 2010 - 3:41 pm j.ro - love those photos (and words) gail! your man's got himself an awesome gal!

February 10, 2010 - 4:57 pm Lindsey - Ahhh...I loved this post. It made me want to go and hug my husband :)

February 10, 2010 - 5:36 pm Janica - I just loooove this entry, Gail. Warms the old heart, it does! And as a wife who's husband is about to embark on a year-long work assignment thousands of miles away, you are encouraging me to come up with a list of my own...

February 10, 2010 - 7:08 pm Gail Werner - Haley, Actually, Daisy just LOVES to give Nick kisses. I don't blame her ;)

February 10, 2010 - 8:43 pm Maya Laurent - I love this Gail. I need to make Pat a list like this. I'm sure Nick loves it.

February 10, 2010 - 8:44 pm Buffy - You are too cute!!! I love it!

February 10, 2010 - 9:13 pm Betsy Pietrus - LOVE this post! I also love not having to push the cart at the grocery store too!!!

February 10, 2010 - 9:23 pm Brandi - Aww, so sweet. When he's gone, the house seems too big, too empty. I hear every creek and groan of the house, and it freaks me out. Days seem longer too. He has to travel for work, actually he's going out of town next week too. Thank goodness for big dogs and fuzzy kitty cats or I wouldn't be able to stay alone. I am not sure how I ever lived on my own when I was younger, lol. Though I have always had pets, so I guess I was never truly alone.

February 14, 2010 - 11:10 am Kim - When John is gone I miss being spooned as I fall asleep or using his chest as a pillow. I also miss waking to find him standing there, smiling, as he brings tea to me in bed! He is truly the best part of me and I am not me without him.

February 15, 2010 - 12:16 am Dustin Francis - Being separated from my fiance for a little over a year now, this heart-felt post made me cry...tears of joy and remembrance. I, like you, have many things I miss, but I think the thing I miss the most, is no matter what time I would come to bed and slide under the covers next to her, she would wiggle herself into me and we would fall asleep together and I loved that she had the hardest time getting out of bed in the morning because I would always hold her tight. Thank you for taking my heart and thoughts back there Gail...I'm happy for you, and Nick sounds wonderful :)
